4:05p - Here at Last
Looks like I finally am a genuine member of LiveJournal.

I'm an old hand at online communities (I've been participating in various ones for more than 9 years). One of the things I know by now is that every community is different, and respect is not transferrable from one to another.

I am getting involved here because so many of my NaNo friends are here, and I don't want to lose that community. I met so many good people through National Novel Writing Month. (I would link to it, but the boards there are somnolent now.)

This feels more private than my blog over at UnNatural History. Even my mother reads that, so I've had to be fairly discreet there. (It's not that she doesn't know; she just doesn't want to be reminded.) This journal should be a little more open.

Every stone a story. Like a rosary.

Yes, that's me. The story, from local storms to the rise and collision of tectonic plates, all encoded in the forms of the landscape and maybe an outcrop. Everything on the surface, everything hidden. And my, aren't we full of ourselves today. The natural result of trying to write a bio for the profile here.

current mood: jubilant
current music: Joan Osborne, "Saint Teresa"
