$500 - Kink-Positive Roommate Wanted -- East Bay (Hayward/Castro Valley)

Looking for a reasonably priced room to rent near BART, stores, restaurants, fast food, Eden Hospital, and 580/880? (Also convenient for trips across the San Mateo Bridge.)

Enjoy having access to an impressive library of books, an outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor-outdoor cat?

Want to be able to have screaming sex without freaking out your fellow residents?

Willing to give up cooking celery and soba noodles in exchange for lower rent?

No, I am not kidding. I have thousands of books (history, psychology, literature, science), two dates a week, a long-haired cat, and severe allergies.

I'm looking for someone to share my apartment, starting September 1. (Or possibly later.) The rent is discounted because the living conditions are ... unusual.

Me:
50-year-old bi/kinky/poly woman who has two partners -- one sleeps over Friday night, the other Sunday
Freelance writer/editor who keeps weird and unpredictable hours
Introvert who needs large amounts of time alone

You:
Whatever gender
Quiet (noisy sex is fine), adult, responsible
Queer or queer-friendly, kink-friendly, fat-friendly
No Smoking/ NO DRUGS/light drinking OK
Able to pass the landlord's credit check
No animals (we're allowed only one cat, no dogs, and I already have a cat)
Reasonably neat and willing to clean up after yourself

For $500 and half the utilities (PG&E, DSL, phone line¹), you'll get:

Own bedroom --approx. 10 x 10 -- with closet and private phone line
Shared bathroom
Apartment complex laundry room right next door
Access to living room with many books plus a TV, DVD, and VCR, and a bunch of movies²
Access to an almost fully equipped kitchen³
Wifi!
__________
¹I'd love to share a maid service.
²We can get cable if you want it.
³No dishwasher. However, I do have a KitchenAid stand mixer, Cuisinart food processor, microwave, toaster oven, coffee grinder, coffee maker, blender, pasta maker, dishes, Calphalon pots and pans, etc., etc. And a wide array of herbs and spices, except for the evil ones related to celery.

Somewhere out there is the perfect roommate for me. Feel free to share this post if you think you've found that person.

Have them email me at username at LJ dot com.

Poem for Today

Unsaid

So much of what we live goes on inside–
The diaries of grief, the tongue-tied aches
Of unacknowledged love are no less real
For having passed unsaid. What we conceal
Is always more than what we dare confide.
Think of the letters that we write our dead.
