This is something I've pondered deeply. Alzheimers runs in my family. My grandmother is 92 and has it. My partner's mother has it. Someday I may. And I know already that in some circumstances, suicide is not culpable but a sane and loving decision.
Yes, I have discussed it with my partners. They know it will be a hard decision, but they also know it may be the most merciful one.
Whatever happens, I will not stay forever at this party. Nobody does. There's a time to go. Some of us may need a little help opening the door.
