Pterry On Assisted Suicide

Sir Terry Pratchett says:Point me to heaven when the final chapter comes.

This is something I've pondered deeply. Alzheimers runs in my family. My grandmother is 92 and has it. My partner's mother has it. Someday I may. And I know already that in some circumstances, suicide is not culpable but a sane and loving decision.

Yes, I have discussed it with my partners. They know it will be a hard decision, but they also know it may be the most merciful one.

Whatever happens, I will not stay forever at this party. Nobody does. There's a time to go. Some of us may need a little help opening the door.

Do you think suicide is ever justified? Under what circumstances?
